Every episode of Before the Sirens moves through the same disciplined process — grounded in journalism, guided by families, and delivered with cinematic care.

    Story Selection

    We choose stories that honor a life, illuminate a truth, and can be told with dignity. If a family does not want a story told, it is not told.

    Research

    Months of primary-source research — court records, reporting, community history — before a single interview is scheduled.

  3. 03

    Fact Verification

    Independent corroboration on every material claim. If we cannot verify it, we do not include it.

    Family Partnership

    Families are collaborators, not subjects. They shape what is shared, what is protected, and what is honored.

    Interviews

    Long-form, trauma-informed conversations with family, friends, and those closest to the story.

    Production

    Cinematic craft in service of the story — never in place of it. Every image, score, and edit chosen with care.

    Editorial Review

    Multi-layer editorial and legal review. Sensitive material is revisited with families before final approval.

    Release

    Every episode is released with context, resources, and a commitment to continuing dialogue with the communities involved.
